I am drawn to the diversity that makes up global independent entrepreneurial communities focused on education. I have been an activist promoting game education with a specialization in soft skills and collaboration. I evangelize the need for soft skills along with an education in digital tools, virtual immersive media, and artificial intelligence - all of which I feel is necessary to succeed in the 21st Century. Combining these skills with the art of collaboration, in my mind, is the future of work.

 

I seek out community-based projects that bring together the most creative minds and experimental thinkers. Innovation through collaboration has always been my mantra. I sit on numerous advisory boards, working groups, and non-profit boards. For relaxation, I enjoy making art, traveling, and eating and drinking good food & wine.

I have been fortunate to explore numerous opportunities working globally. I am the creator of the much-loved Global Game Jam® and co-founder of the annual event that brings together over 49k developers yearly from over the world for one creatively explosive weekend of fun and innovation. In July 2018, I launched a new extension of the brand, called GGJ NEXT®, focusing on self-directed, hypermedia education - preparing young creators to develop games, interactive storytelling, and digital exploration.
